10 Och han stod upp och begav sig därifrån, genom landet på andra sidan Jordan, till Judeens område. Och mycket folk församlades åter omkring honom, och åter undervisade han dem, såsom hans sed var.
2 Då ville några fariséer snärja honom, och de trädde fram och frågade honom om det vore lovligt för en man att skilja sig från sin hustru.
3 Men han svarade och sade till dem: »Vad har Moses bjudit eder?»
4 De sade: »Moses tillstadde att en man fick skriva skiljebrev åt sin hustru och så skilja sig från henne.»
5 Då sade Jesus till dem: »För edra hjärtans hårdhets skull skrev han åt eder detta bud.
6 Men redan vid världens begynnelse 'gjorde Gud dem till man och kvinna'.
7 'Fördenskull skall en man övergiva sin fader och sin moder.
8 Och de tu skola varda ett kött.' Så äro de icke mer två, utan ett kött.
9 Vad nu Gud har sammanfogat, det må människan icke åtskilja.»
10 När de sedan hade kommit hem, frågade hans lärjungar honom åter om detsamma.
11 Och han svarade dem: »Den som skiljer sig från sin hustru och tager sig en annan hustru, han begår äktenskapsbrott mot henne.
12 Och om en hustru skiljer sig från sin man och tager sig en annan man, då begår hon äktenskapsbrott.
13 Och man bar fram barn till honom, för att han skulle röra vid dem; men lärjungarna visade bort dem.
14 När Jesus såg detta, blev han misslynt och sade till dem: »Låten barnen komma till mig, och förmenen dem det icke; ty Guds rike hör sådana till.
15 Sannerligen säger jag eder: Den som icke tager emot Guds rike såsom ett barn, han kommer aldrig ditin.»
16 Och han tog dem upp i famnen och lade händerna på dem och välsignade dem.
17 När han sedan begav sig åstad för att fortsätta sin väg, skyndade en man fram och föll på knä för honom och frågade honom: »Gode Mästare, vad skall jag göra för att få evigt liv till arvedel?»
18 Jesus sade till honom: »Varför kallar du mig god? Ingen är god utom Gud allena.
19 Buden känner du: 'Du skall icke dräpa', 'Du skall icke begå äktenskapsbrott', 'Du skall icke stjäla', 'Du skall icke bära falskt vittnesbörd', 'Du skall icke undanhålla någon vad honom tillkommer', Hedra din fader och din moder.'»
20 Då svarade han honom: »Mästare, allt detta har jag hållit från min ungdom.»
21 Då såg Jesus på honom och fick kärlek till honom och sade till honom: »Ett fattas dig: gå bort och sälj allt vad du äger och giv åt de fattiga; då skall du få en skatt i himmelen. Och kom sedan och följ mig.»
22 Men han blev illa till mods vid det talet och gick bedrövad bort, ty han hade många ägodelar.
23 Då såg Jesus sig omkring och sade till sina lärjungar: »Huru svårt är det icke för dem som hava penningar att komma in i Guds rike!»
24 Men lärjungarna häpnade vid hans ord. Då tog Jesus åter till orda och sade till dem: »Ja, mina barn, huru svårt är det icke att komma in i Guds rike!
25 Det är lättare för en kamel att komma igenom ett nålsöga, än för den som är rik att komma in i Guds rike.»
26 Då blevo de ännu mer häpna och sade till varandra: »Vem kan då bliva frälst?»
27 Jesus såg på dem och sade: »För människor är det omöjligt, men icke för Gud, ty för Gud är allting möjligt.»
28 Då tog Petrus till orda och sade till honom: »Se, vi hava övergivit allt och följt dig.»
29 Jesus svarade: »Sannerligen säger jag eder: Ingen som för min och evangelii skull har övergivit hus, eller bröder eller systrar, eller moder eller fader, eller barn, eller jordagods,
30 ingen sådan finnes, som icke skall få hundrafalt igen: redan här i tiden hus, och bröder och systrar, och mödrar och barn, och jordagods, mitt under förföljelser, och i den tillkommande tidsåldern evigt liv.
31 Men många som äro de första skola bliva de sista, medan de sista bliva de första.»
32 Och de voro på vägen upp till Jerusalem. Och Jesus gick före dem, och de gingo där bävande; och de som följde med dem voro uppfyllda av fruktan. Då tog han åter till sig de tolv och begynte tala till dem om vad som skulle övergå honom:
33 »Se, vi gå nu upp till Jerusalem, och Människosonen skall bliva överlämnad åt översteprästerna och de skriftlärde, och de skola döma honom till döden och överlämna honom åt hedningarna,
34 och dessa skola begabba honom och bespotta honom och gissla honom och döda honom; men tre dagar därefter skall han uppstå igen.»
35 Då trädde Jakob och Johannes, Sebedeus' söner, fram till honom och sade till honom: »Mästare, vi skulle vilja att du läte oss få vad vi nu tänka begära av dig.»
36 Han frågade dem: »Vad viljen I då att jag skall låta eder få?»
37 De svarade honom: »Låt den ene av oss i din härlighet få sitta på din högra sida, och den andre på din vänstra.»
38 Men Jesus sade till dem: »I veten icke vad I begären. Kunnen I dricka den kalk som jag dricker, eller genomgå det dop som jag genomgår?»
39 De svarade honom: »Det kunna vi.» Då sade Jesus till dem: »Ja, den kalk jag dricker skolen I få dricka, och det dop jag genomgår skolen I genomgå,
40 men platsen på min högra sida och platsen på min vänstra tillkommer det icke mig att bortgiva, utan de skola tillfalla dem för vilka så är bestämt.»
41 När de tio andra hörde detta, blevo de misslynta på Jakob och Johannes.
42 Då kallade Jesus dem till sig och sade till dem: »I veten att de som räknas för folkens furstar uppträda mot dem såsom herrar, och att deras mäktige låta dem känna sin myndighet.
43 Men så är det icke bland eder; utan den som vill bliva störst bland eder, han vare de andras tjänare,
44 och den som vill vara främst bland eder, han vare allas dräng.
45 Också Människosonen har ju kommit, icke för att låta tjäna sig, utan för att tjäna och giva sitt liv till lösen för många.»
46 Och de kommo till Jeriko. Men när han åter gick ut ifrån Jeriko, följd av sina lärjungar och en ganska stor hop folk, satt där vid vägen en blind tiggare, Bartimeus, Timeus' son.
47 När denne hörde att det var Jesus från Nasaret, begynte han ropa och säga: »Jesus, Davids son, förbarma dig över mig.»
48 Och många tillsade honom strängeligen att han skulle tiga; men han ropade ännu mycket mer: »Davids son, förbarma dig över mig.»
49 Då stannade Jesus och sade: »Kallen honom hit.» Och de kallade på den blinde och sade till honom: »Var vid gott mod, stå upp; han kallar dig till sig.»
50 Då kastade han av sig sin mantel och stod upp med hast och kom fram till Jesus.
51 Och Jesus talade till honom och sade: »Vad vill du att jag skall göra dig?» Den blinde svarade honom: »Rabbuni, låt mig få min syn.»
52 Jesus sade till honom: »Gå; din tro har hjälpt dig.» Och strax fick han sin syn och följde honom på vägen.

Jesús en Judea
10 (A)Levantándose de allí, Jesús se fue* a la región de Judea y al otro lado del Jordán; y se reunieron* de nuevo las multitudes junto a Él, y una vez más, como acostumbraba, les enseñaba(B).
Enseñanza de Jesús sobre el divorcio
2 Y se le acercaron algunos fariseos, y para ponerle[a] a prueba, le preguntaban si era lícito a un hombre divorciarse de[b] su mujer. 3 Y respondiendo Él, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés? 4 Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió al hombre escribir carta de divorcio y repudiarla(C). 5 Pero Jesús les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento(D). 6 Pero desde el principio de la creación(E), Dios los hizo varón y hembra(F). 7 Por esta razón el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre[c](G), 8 y los dos serán una sola carne(H); por consiguiente, ya no son dos, sino una sola carne. 9 Por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, ningún hombre lo separe. 10 Y ya en la casa, los discípulos volvieron a preguntarle sobre esto. 11 Y Él les dijo*: Cualquiera que se divorcie de[d] su mujer y se case con otra, comete adulterio contra ella(I); 12 y si ella se divorcia de[e] su marido(J) y se casa con otro, comete adulterio.
Jesús bendice a los niños
13 (K)Y le traían niños para que los tocara; y los discípulos los reprendieron. 14 Pero cuando Jesús vio esto, se indignó y les dijo: Dejad que los niños vengan a mí; no se lo impidáis, porque de los que son como estos[f] es el reino de Dios(L). 15 En verdad os digo: el que no reciba el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él(M). 16 Y tomándolos en sus brazos(N), los bendecía, poniendo las manos sobre ellos.
El joven rico
17 (O)Cuando salía para seguir su camino, vino uno corriendo, y arrodillándose delante de Él(P), le preguntó[g]: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna(Q)? 18 Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino solo uno, Dios. 19 Tú sabes los mandamientos: «No mates, no cometas adulterio, no hurtes, no des falso testimonio, no defraudes, honra a tu padre y a tu madre(R)». 20 Y él le dijo: Maestro, todo esto lo he guardado(S) desde mi juventud. 21 Jesús, mirándolo, lo amó y le dijo: Una cosa te falta: ve y vende cuanto tienes y da a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo(T); y ven, sígueme. 22 Pero él, afligido por estas palabras, se fue triste, porque era dueño de muchos bienes.
Peligro de las riquezas
23 Jesús, mirando en derredor, dijo* a sus discípulos: ¡Qué difícil será para los que tienen riquezas entrar en el reino de Dios(U)! 24 Y los discípulos se asombraron(V) de sus palabras. Pero Jesús respondiendo de nuevo, les dijo*: Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios[h]! 25 Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una[i] aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios(W). 26 Ellos se asombraron aún más, diciendo entre sí[j]: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse? 27 Mirándolos Jesús, dijo*: Para los hombres es imposible, pero no para Dios, porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios(X). 28 Entonces Pedro comenzó a decirle: He aquí, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido(Y). 29 Jesús dijo: En verdad os digo: No hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o madre, o padre, o hijos o tierras por causa de mí y por causa del evangelio(Z), 30 que no reciba cien veces más ahora en este tiempo: casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, e hijos, y tierras junto con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero(AA), la vida eterna. 31 Pero muchos primeros serán últimos, y los últimos, primeros(AB).
Jesús anuncia su muerte por tercera vez
32 (AC)E iban por el camino subiendo a Jerusalén, y Jesús iba delante de ellos; y estaban perplejos(AD), y los que le seguían tenían miedo. Y tomando aparte de nuevo a los doce, comenzó a decirles lo que le iba a suceder: 33 He aquí, subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre(AE) será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte y le entregarán a los gentiles. 34 Y se burlarán de Él y le escupirán(AF), le azotarán y le matarán, y tres días después resucitará.
Petición de Jacobo y Juan
35 (AG)Y se le acercaron* Jacobo[k] y Juan, los dos hijos de Zebedeo, diciéndole: Maestro, queremos que hagas por nosotros lo que te pidamos. 36 Y Él les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros? 37 Ellos le dijeron: Concédenos[l] que en tu gloria(AH) nos sentemos uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda. 38 Pero Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo bebo(AI), o ser bautizados con el bautismo con que soy bautizado(AJ)? 39 Y ellos le dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: La copa que yo bebo, beberéis; y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado(AK), 40 pero el que os sentéis a mi derecha o a mi izquierda, no es mío el concederlo[m], sino que es para quienes ha sido preparado(AL). 41 Al oír esto, los diez comenzaron a indignarse contra Jacobo[n] y Juan. 42 (AM)Y llamándolos junto a sí, Jesús les dijo*: Sabéis que los que son reconocidos como gobernantes de los gentiles se enseñorean de ellos, y que sus grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos. 43 Pero entre vosotros no es así, sino que cualquiera de vosotros que desee llegar a ser grande será vuestro servidor(AN), 44 y cualquiera de vosotros que desee ser el primero será siervo de todos. 45 Porque ni aun el Hijo del Hombre vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida[o] en rescate por muchos(AO).
El ciego Bartimeo es sanado
46 (AP)Entonces llegaron* a Jericó. Y cuando salía de Jericó con sus discípulos y una gran multitud, un mendigo ciego llamado Bartimeo, el hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino(AQ). 47 Y cuando oyó que era Jesús el Nazareno(AR), comenzó a gritar y a decir: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí(AS)! 48 Y muchos lo reprendían para que se callara, pero él gritaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí(AT)! 49 Y Jesús se detuvo y dijo: Llamadle. Y llamaron* al ciego, diciéndole: ¡Anímate(AU)! Levántate, que te llama. 50 Y arrojando su manto, se levantó de un salto y fue a Jesús. 51 Y dirigiéndose a él[p], Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué deseas que haga por ti? Y el ciego le respondió: Raboní[q](AV), que recobre la vista. 52 Y Jesús le dijo: Vete, tu fe te ha sanado[r](AW). Y al instante recobró la vista, y le seguía por el camino.

Divorce(A)
10 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan.(B) Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.(C)
2 Some Pharisees(D) came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”(E)
5 “It was because your hearts were hard(F) that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a](G) 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c](H) So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.(I) 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”(J)
The Little Children and Jesus(K)
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.(L) 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”(M) 16 And he took the children in his arms,(N) placed his hands on them and blessed them.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(O)
17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees(P) before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”(Q)
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’[d]”(R)
20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”
21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor,(S) and you will have treasure in heaven.(T) Then come, follow me.”(U)
22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich(V) to enter the kingdom of God!”
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is[e] to enter the kingdom of God!(W) 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”(X)
26 The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”
27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”(Y)
28 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!”(Z)
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much(AA) in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come(AB) eternal life.(AC) 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”(AD)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(AE)
32 They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve(AF) aside and told them what was going to happen to him. 33 “We are going up to Jerusalem,”(AG) he said, “and the Son of Man(AH) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(AI) They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34 who will mock him and spit on him, flog him(AJ) and kill him.(AK) Three days later(AL) he will rise.”(AM)
The Request of James and John(AN)
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”(AO)
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,”(AP) Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup(AQ) I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”(AR)
39 “We can,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with,(AS) 40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”
41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(AT) 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,(AU) and to give his life as a ransom for many.”(AV)
Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight(AW)
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth,(AX) he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David,(AY) have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi,(AZ) I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.”(BA) Immediately he received his sight and followed(BB) Jesus along the road.
