6 イエスはそこを去り、故郷に帰った。彼の弟子たちも一緒だった。 2 休日の日・・・イエスはユダヤ集会所で教えていた。そして、彼のメッセージを聞いた人たちは驚いた。彼らは言った。「お、おい、誰だあいつ？あれ全部、どこから学んできたんだ？あんな知恵をどっからもらってきたんだ？誰があいつに？奇跡を起こす力もどこで得たんだろう？ 3 えーでも、アイツ、俺らが知ってる大工じゃねぇか！あのマリアのとこの息子で、兄弟はヤコブとヨセフ、それにユダとシモンだろ？妹たちだってまだこの村に住んでるよな？」そのため、地元の人たちにとって彼を受け入れることは簡単ではなかった。
4 それからイエスは彼らに言った。「人々が預言者を敬わない唯一の場所は、その人の故郷であり、彼自身の親戚と家族だ」 5 イエスはその場所で、何人かの病気の人たちに手を置いて癒すことを除いては、奇跡という奇跡を起こすことができなかった。 6 彼はそこの人々が信仰を持っていなかったことに驚いた。

6 まもなくイエスはその地方を去り、弟子たちを連れて故郷の町ナザレに帰られました。 2-3 次の安息日に、イエスが会堂に出かけて話をされると、聴衆はその教えに驚きました。イエスのことを、自分たちと同じ、ただの田舎者だと思っていたからです。
「あれのどこがおれたちと違うというんだ。ただの大工のせがれじゃないか。母親はマリヤだし、ヤコブやヨセやユダやシモンは兄弟だ。妹たちだって、われわれとこの町に住んでいるじゃないか。」こうして、町の人たちはイエスに背を向けました。 4 そこで、イエスは言われました。「預言者（神に託されたことばを語る人）はどこででも尊敬されます。ただ、自分の故郷、親族、家族の中ではそうではありません。」 5 そのため、わずかの病人に手を置いて治されただけで、そこでは何一つ力あるわざを行うことができませんでした。 6 イエスは、ナザレの人たちの不信仰に驚かれました。
このことがあってから後、イエスは近辺の村々を巡り歩いて、教えられました。

6 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Jesus Is Rejected at Nazareth(A)
6 Jesus left that place and went back to his hometown, followed by his disciples. 2 On the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue. Many people were there; and when they heard him, they were all amazed. “Where did he get all this?” they asked. “What wisdom is this that has been given him? How does he perform miracles? 3 Isn't he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Aren't his sisters living here?” And so they rejected him.
4 (B)Jesus said to them, “Prophets are respected everywhere except in their own hometown and by their relatives and their family.”
5 He was not able to perform any miracles there, except that he placed his hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 He was greatly surprised, because the people did not have faith.
