Mục Đích Của Ngụ Ngôn(A)

10 Khi còn lại một mình Đức Giê-su, mười hai sứ đồ và những người khác hỏi Ngài về ngụ ngôn ấy. 11 Ngài đáp: “Sự huyền nhiệm Nước Đức Chúa Trời đã được ban cho các con. Nhưng đối với người ngoài thì dùng ngụ ngôn mà dạy mọi sự. 12 Để:

‘Họ xem thì vẫn xem mà không thấy,
    Nghe thì vẫn nghe mà không hiểu,
E họ hối cải và được tha tội chăng.’ ”

10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God(A) has been given to you. But to those on the outside(B) everything is said in parables 12 so that,

“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
    and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’[a](C)

Jesus explains to his disciples why he uses stories

10 When Jesus was alone, the 12 apostles and other people who were there asked him about the stories. 11 Jesus replied, ‘God has let you understand how he rules in the lives of his people. But these other people only listen to stories. 12 This is so that:

“They are always looking but they do not see clearly.
They are always listening but they do not understand.”

If they did understand, they would turn to God. Then God would forgive them.’

10 (B)But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to (C)know the [a]mystery of the kingdom of God; but to (D)those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that

And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.’
