Sin Čovječji je gospodar šabata

(Mt 12,1-8; Lk 6,1-5)

23 Jednom je na šabat, dan odmora, Isus prolazio kroz žitna polja. S njim su bili i njegovi učenici te su putem trgali klasje. 24 Kad su farizeji to vidjeli, rekli su Isusu: »Gledaj! Tvoji učenici rade na šabat, što po Zakonu nije dopušteno.«

25 A Isus im je odgovorio: »Zar niste čitali što je David učinio kad su on i njegovi pratioci ogladnjeli? 26 Bilo je to u vrijeme kad je Abijatar bio vrhovni svećenik. David je ušao u Božju kuću i jeo posvećene kruhove prinesene Bogu. Po Zakonu nitko, osim svećenika, ne smije jesti taj kruh, a David ga je još podijelio i onima koji su bili s njim.«

27 Tada je Isus rekao farizejima: »Šabat je namijenjen da služi čovjeku, a nije čovjek stvoren da šabat upravlja njime. 28 Stoga, Sin je Čovječji gospodar i šabata.«

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(A)(B)

23 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.(C) 24 The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”(D)

25 He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest,(E) he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat.(F) And he also gave some to his companions.”(G)

27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,(H) not man for the Sabbath.(I) 28 So the Son of Man(J) is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
