⁷ Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, “This is my Son, the Beloved;^[a] listen to him!”^(A)

¹⁷ For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, my Beloved,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”^(A)

¹⁷ And a voice from the heavens said, “This is my Son, the Beloved,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”^(A)

³⁴ While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were terrified as they entered the cloud. ³⁵ Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my Son, my Chosen;^[a] listen to him!”^{(A) 36} When the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and in those days told no one any of the things they had seen.^(B)

¹¹ And a voice came from the heavens, “You are my Son, the Beloved;^[a] with you I am well pleased.”^(A)

So it is to be. Amen.^(A)

¹¹ And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.^(A)

Warning to Pay Attention

2 Therefore we must pay greater attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

²² Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you from your own people a prophet like me. You must listen to whatever he tells you.^{(A) 23} And it will be that everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly rooted out of the people.’

³¹ But these are written so that you may continue^[a] to believe that Jesus is the Messiah,^[b] the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name.^(A)
