⁵ Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi,^(A) it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

³ No longer will there be any curse.^(A) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.^{(B) 4} They will see his face,^(C) and his name will be on their foreheads.^(D)

²³ I am torn between the two: I desire to depart^(A) and be with Christ,^(B) which is better by far;

²¹ Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.^(A) The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,^(B) and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

²² Then Judas^(C) (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”^(D)

²³ Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.^(E) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.^(F)

⁸ Philip^(A) said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

⁹ Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.^(B) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

⁷ they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.^(A)

¹⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked,^(A) because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”^(B)

¹⁸ Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”^(C)

¹⁹ And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass^(D) in front of you, and I will proclaim my name,^(E) the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.^{(F) 20} But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see^(G) me and live.”

²¹ Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. ²² When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock^(H) and cover you with my hand^(I) until I have passed by. ²³ Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”
