⁴ And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

^21 (A)whom heaven must receive until the time for ^(B)restoring all the things about which ^(C)God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. ²² Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you ^(D)a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen ^(E)to him in whatever he tells you. ²³ And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet ^(F)shall be destroyed from the people.’ ²⁴ And ^(G)all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.

³⁰ And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, ³¹ who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure,^[a] which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

³ And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him. ⁴ And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for ^(A)Elijah.”

¹⁰ Then ^(A)I fell down at his feet to worship him, ^(B)but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to ^(C)the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, ^(A)the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, ¹¹ inquiring ^(B)what person or time^{[a] (C)}the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating ^(D)when he predicted ^(E)the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. ^12 (F)It was revealed to them that ^(G)they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you ^(H)by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, ^(I)things into which angels long to look.

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, ^(A)on whom you have set your hope. ⁴⁶ For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for ^(B)he wrote of me. ⁴⁷ But ^(C)if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”

^39 (A)You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and ^(B)it is they that bear witness about me,

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, ^(A)“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, ^(B)that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
