²⁹ He said to them, “This kind can come out only through prayer.”^[a]

³ Then I turned to the Lord God to seek an answer by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.^(A)

¹⁵ The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up, and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.

²⁰ He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a^[a] mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”^[b](A)

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.^(A)

⁸ Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me,^(A)

²⁷ in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, hungry and thirsty, often without food,^[a] cold and naked.^(A)

²⁶ Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and live there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first.”^(A)

²⁷ but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.^(A)

²⁰ He cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?” ²¹ Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, let this child’s life come into him again.”^{(A) 22} The Lord listened to the voice of Elijah; the life of the child came into him again, and he revived.^(B)
