²² And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But ^(A)if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

²⁸ When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, ^(A)he had compassion on her and ^(B)said to her, “Do not weep.”

¹⁹ And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and ^(A)tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

^40 (A)And a leper^[a] came to him, imploring him, and ^(B)kneeling said to him, ^(C)“If you will, you can make me clean.” ⁴¹ Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” ⁴² And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.

³⁴ And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.

²² And behold, ^(A)a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, ^(B)“Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” ²³ But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, ^(C)“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” ²⁴ He answered, ^(D)“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” ²⁵ But she came and ^(E)knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” ²⁶ And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and ^(F)throw it to the dogs.” ²⁷ She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat ^(G)the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” ²⁸ Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, ^(H)great is your faith! ^(I)Be it done for you as you desire.” ^(J)And her daughter was ^(K)healed instantly.^[a]

³¹ Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, ^(A)“O you of little faith, why did you ^(B)doubt?”

⁸ But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but ^(A)only say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁹ For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant,^[a] ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
