⁸ So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.

Elisha Feeds One Hundred Men^(A)

⁴² Then a man came from ^(B)Baal Shalisha, ^(C)and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.”

⁴³ But his servant said, ^(D)“What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?”

He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ^(E)‘They shall eat and have some left over.’ ” ⁴⁴ So he set it before them; and they ate ^(F)and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

^19 (A)When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?”

They said to Him, “Twelve.”

²⁰ “Also, ^(B)when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?”

And they said, “Seven.”

^10 (A)Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?

^16 (A)They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; ^(B)the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; ¹⁷ for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne ^(C)will shepherd them and lead them to ^[a]living fountains of waters. ^(D)And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

⁴⁷ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)he who believes ^[a]in Me has everlasting life. ^48 (B)I am the bread of life. ^49 (C)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ^50 (D)This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(E)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(F)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

⁵² The Jews therefore ^(G)quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless ^(H)you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ^54 (I)Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is ^[b]food indeed, and My blood is ^[c]drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood ^(J)abides in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. ^58 (K)This is the bread which came down from heaven—not ^(L)as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

³² Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but ^(A)My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. ³³ For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

^34 (B)Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

³⁵ And Jesus said to them, ^(C)“I am the bread of life. ^(D)He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never ^(E)thirst.

^27 (A)Do not labor for the food which perishes, but ^(B)for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, ^(C)because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
