³⁸ If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man^(A) will be ashamed of them^(B) when he comes^(C) in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

²⁶ “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds^(A) with great power and glory. ²⁷ And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.^(B)

⁴⁰ “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. ⁴¹ The Son of Man^(A) will send out his angels,^(B) and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.

²⁷ For the Son of Man^(A) is going to come^(B) in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.^(C)

³⁰ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth^[a] will mourn^(A) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,^(B) with power and great glory.^{[b] 31} And he will send his angels^(C) with a loud trumpet call,^(D) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

The Sheep and the Goats

³¹ “When the Son of Man comes^(A) in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.^(B)

²⁶ Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them^(A) when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.^(B)

⁵¹ He then added, “Very truly I tell you,^[a] you^[b] will see ‘heaven open,^(A) and the angels of God ascending and descending^(B) on’^[c] the Son of Man.”^(C)

⁷ and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven^(A) in blazing fire^(B) with his powerful angels.^(C)
