Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

^31 (A)And he began to teach them that ^(B)the Son of Man must ^(C)suffer many things and ^(D)be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and ^(E)after three days rise again.

³³ saying, “See, ^(A)we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will ^(B)condemn him to death and ^(C)deliver him over to the Gentiles. ³⁴ And they will ^(D)mock him and ^(E)spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And ^(F)after three days he will rise.”

³⁵ “This Moses, whom they rejected, ^(A)saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer ^(B)by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

³¹ for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, ^(A)after three days he will rise.” ^32 (B)But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

¹⁹ Jesus answered them, ^(A)“Destroy this temple, and in three days ^(B)I will raise it up.”

^26 (A)Was it not necessary that ^(B)the Christ should suffer these things and enter into ^(C)his glory?”

^51 (A)“You stiff-necked people, ^(B)uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ^(C)As your fathers did, so do you. ^52 (D)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of ^(E)the Righteous One, ^(F)whom you have now betrayed and murdered,

²⁵ But first ^(A)he must suffer many things and ^(B)be rejected by this generation.
