17 Aware of this, he said to them, ‘Why are you discussing the fact you have no bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Do you have hardened hearts?(A) 18 Do you have eyes and not see; do you have ears and not hear?[a](B) And do you not remember?(C) 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of leftovers did you collect? ’

17 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?(A) 18 Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”
“Twelve,”(B) they replied.
