32 And they brought to him a man who was deaf and had difficulty speaking, and they were imploring him that he would place his[a] hand on him. 33 And he took him away from the crowd by himself and[b] put his fingers into his ears, and after[c] spitting, he touched his tongue. 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”).

New International Version
32 There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk,(A) and they begged Jesus to place his hand on(B) him.
33 After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit(C) and touched the man’s tongue. 34 He looked up to heaven(D) and with a deep sigh(E) said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”).
