²⁸ But she answered him, “Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's ^(A)crumbs.”

^12 (A)For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; ^(B)for the same Lord is Lord of all, ^(C)bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

²⁹ Or ^(A)is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

³⁰ But when this son of yours came, ^(A)who has devoured ^(B)your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’ ³¹ And he said to him, ‘Son, ^(C)you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. ³² It was fitting ^(D)to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother ^(E)was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’”

¹⁷ If then ^(A)God gave ^(B)the same gift to them as he gave to us ^(C)when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(D)who was I ^(E)that I could stand in God's way?” ¹⁸ When they heard these things they fell silent. And they ^(F)glorified God, saying, ^(G)“Then to the Gentiles also God has ^(H)granted ^(I)repentance that leads to life.”

⁶ And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, ^(A)do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But ^(B)say the word, and let my servant be healed. ⁸ For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
