² On the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astounded. They said, “Where did this man get all this? What is this wisdom that has been given to him? What deeds of power are being done by his hands!^(A)

⁴² They were saying, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”^(A)

²¹ They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, he entered the synagogue and taught.^{(A) 22} They were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.^(B)

²⁸ Now when Jesus had finished saying these words, the crowds were astounded at his teaching,^(A)

²³ Jesus^[a] went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news^[b] of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness among the people.^(A)

¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized them as companions of Jesus.^{(A) 14} When they saw the man who had been cured standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.

¹⁵ The Jews were astonished at it, saying, “How does this man have such learning, when he has never been taught?”^(A)

¹⁵ He began to teach in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.^(A)

³⁹ And he went throughout all Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.^(A)
