² And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were ^(A)astonished, saying, ^(B)“Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!

⁴² And they said, ^(A)“Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

The Name of Jesus Forbidden

¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, ^(A)and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ And seeing the man who had been healed ^(B)standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

^15 (A)And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?”

Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit^(A)

^21 (B)Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the ^(C)synagogue and taught. ^22 (D)And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Jesus Heals a Great Multitude^(A)

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, ^(B)teaching in their synagogues, preaching ^(C)the gospel of the kingdom, ^(D)and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit^(A)

³¹ Then ^(B)He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. ³² And they were ^(C)astonished at His teaching, ^(D)for His word was with authority.

²⁸ And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that ^(A)the people were astonished at His teaching,

¹⁵ And He ^(A)taught in their synagogues, ^(B)being glorified by all.

^39 (A)And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and ^(B)casting out demons.
