³⁶ But overhearing^[a] what they said, Jesus said to the synagogue leader, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

⁵⁰ When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not be afraid. Only believe, and she will be saved.”

²⁸ When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you have faith that I can do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” ²⁹ Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith, let it be done to you.”

⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”^(A)

²³ Jesus said to him, “If you are able! All things can be done for the one who believes.”

¹⁸ Hoping against hope, he believed that he would become “the father of many nations,” according to what was said, “So shall your descendants be.” ¹⁹ He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was already^[a] as good as dead (for he was about a hundred years old), and the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.^{(A) 20} No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, ²¹ being fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.^{(B) 22} Therefore “it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” ²³ Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone^{(C) 24} but for ours also. It will be reckoned to us who believe^[b] in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,^(D)

³⁴ He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you^[a] see signs and wonders you will not believe.”^{(A) 49} The official said to him, “Sir,^[b] come down before my little boy dies.” ⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.”^[c] The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way.

²⁰ He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a^[a] mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”^[b](A)

²⁰ They rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa, and as they went out Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established; believe his prophets and you will succeed.”^(A)
