¹⁸ As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him.

³⁸ The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

²³ I am torn between the two: I desire to depart^(A) and be with Christ,^(B) which is better by far; ²⁴ but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

¹⁷ Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.

⁴² Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.^[a]”^(A)

⁴³ Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”^(B)

⁷ He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me,^(A) Jesus, Son of the Most High God?^(B) In God’s name don’t torture me!”

¹⁵ One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God^(A) in a loud voice. ¹⁶ He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.^(B)

¹⁷ Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
