¹⁵ Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been ^(A)demon-possessed and had the legion, ^(B)sitting and ^(C)clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.

¹³ He has delivered us from ^(A)the power of darkness ^(B)and ^[a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

⁷ For ^(A)God has not given us a spirit of fear, ^(B)but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

⁹ Then He asked him, “What is your name?”

And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”

³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, ^(A)who also ^(B)sat at ^[a]Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

²⁷ And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons ^[a]for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs.

⁴ So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town ^(A)trembled at his coming, and said, ^(B)“Do you come peaceably?”

The Ark at Kirjath Jearim

²⁰ And the men of Beth Shemesh said, ^(A)“Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? And to whom shall it go up from us?” ²¹ So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of ^(B)Kirjath Jearim, saying, “The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord; come down and take it up with you.”

²⁵ But thus says the Lord:
