¹⁵ And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed^[a] man, the one who had had ^(A)the legion, sitting there, ^(B)clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.

¹³ He ^(A)has delivered us from ^(B)the domain of darkness and transferred us to ^(C)the kingdom of ^(D)his beloved Son,

⁷ for God gave us ^(A)a spirit not of fear but ^(B)of power and love and self-control.

⁹ And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is ^(A)Legion, for we are many.”

³⁹ And she had a sister called ^(A)Mary, who ^(B)sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching.

²⁷ When Jesus^[a] had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house ^(A)but among the tombs.

⁴ Samuel did what the Lord commanded and came to Bethlehem. The elders of the city ^(A)came to meet him trembling and said, ^(B)“Do you come peaceably?”

²⁰ Then the men of Beth-shemesh said, ^(A)“Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? And to whom shall he go up away from us?” ²¹ So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of ^(B)Kiriath-jearim, saying, “The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and take it up to you.”
