37 A fierce windstorm(A) arose, and the waves(B) were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 But He was in the stern, sleeping(C) on the cushion. So they woke Him up(D) and said to Him, “Teacher! Don’t You care that we’re going to die?”(E)
39 He got up, rebuked(F) the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence!(G) Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, (A)“Teacher, (B)do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and (C)rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, (D)“Peace,[a] be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
