Jesus Stills a Storm
35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. 37 A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

35 (A)In quello stesso giorno, alla sera, Gesù disse loro: «Passiamo all’altra riva». 36 E lasciata la folla, lo presero con sé, così com’era, nella barca. C’erano delle altre barche con lui. 37 Ed ecco levarsi una gran bufera di vento che gettava le onde nella barca, tanto che la barca[a] già si riempiva. 38 Egli stava dormendo sul guanciale a poppa. Essi lo svegliarono e gli dissero: «Maestro, non t’importa che noi moriamo?» 39 Egli, svegliatosi, sgridò il vento e disse al mare: «Taci, càlmati!» Il vento cessò e si fece gran bonaccia. 40 Egli disse loro: «Perché siete così paurosi? Non avete ancora fede?[b]» 41 Ed essi furono presi da gran timore e si dicevano gli uni gli altri: «Chi è dunque costui, al quale persino il vento e il mare ubbidiscono?»

35 Und an jenem Tag, als es Abend geworden war, sprach er zu ihnen: Lasst uns hinüberfahren an das jenseitige Ufer!
36 Und nachdem sie die Volksmenge entlassen hatten, nahmen sie ihn mit, wie er da in dem Schiff war; es waren aber auch andere kleine Schiffe bei ihm.
37 Und es erhob sich ein großer Sturm, und die Wellen schlugen in das Schiff, sodass es sich schon zu füllen begann.
38 Und er war hinten auf dem Schiff und schlief auf einem Kissen. Und sie weckten ihn auf und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, kümmert es dich nicht, dass wir umkommen?
39 Und er stand auf, befahl dem Wind und sprach zum See: Schweig, werde still! Da legte sich der Wind, und es entstand eine große Stille.
40 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was seid ihr so furchtsam? Wie, habt ihr keinen Glauben?
41 Und sie gerieten in große Furcht und sprachen zueinander: Wer ist denn dieser, dass auch der Wind und der See ihm gehorsam sind?

35 Ugyanazon a napon, estefelé Jézus azt mondta a tanítványainak: „Menjünk át a túlsó partra!” 36 Otthagyták tehát az embereket, és elindultak azzal a bárkával, amelyben ülve Jézus addig tanított. Más bárkák is követték őt. 37 Hirtelen erős szélvihar csapott le a tóra. A hullámok átcsaptak a bárka oldalán, s az már kezdett megtelni. 38 Eközben Jézus a bárka hátsó részén aludt, a holmikon. A tanítványok azonban felkeltették: „Mester, nem törődsz vele, hogy elpusztulunk?!”
39 Ekkor Jézus felkelt, ráparancsolt a szélre és azt mondta víznek: „Csend legyen! Hallgass el!” Ekkor elállt a szél, és kisimult a tó vize.
40 Majd azt mondta nekik: „Miért rémültetek meg? Még mindig nem hisztek?”
41 A tanítványokat nagy félelem fogta el, és ezt kérdezgették egymástól: „Ki lehet ez, hogy még a szél és a víz is engedelmeskedik neki?”

35 Ce jour-là, quand le soir fut venu, Jésus dit à ses disciples : Passons de l’autre côté du lac !
36 Ils laissèrent la foule et emmenèrent Jésus sur le lac, dans le bateau où il se trouvait. D’autres bateaux les accompagnaient. 37 Or, voilà qu’un vent très violent se mit à souffler. Les vagues se jetaient contre le bateau, qui se remplissait d’eau. 38 Lui, à l’arrière, dormait, la tête sur un coussin.
Les disciples le réveillèrent et lui crièrent : Maître, nous sommes perdus, et tu ne t’en soucies pas ?
39 Il se réveilla, parla sévèrement au vent et ordonna au lac : Silence ! Tais-toi !
Le vent tomba, et il se fit un grand calme.
40 Puis il dit à ses disciples : Pourquoi avez-vous si peur ? Vous ne croyez pas encore ?
41 Mais eux furent saisis d’une grande crainte ; ils se disaient les uns aux autres : Qui est donc cet homme pour que même le vent et le lac lui obéissent ?
