Mark 4:17-19

17 But they have no root in themselves; they are short-lived. When pressure(A) or persecution comes because of the word, they immediately stumble.(B) 18 Others are sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word, 19 but the worries(C) of this age,(D) the seduction[a](E) of wealth,(F) and the desires(G) for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.(H)

When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth(A) and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
