³⁴ And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!

⁴⁹ And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My ^(A)brothers! ⁵⁰ For ^(B)whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

²⁹ For whom ^(A)He foreknew, ^(B)He also predestined ^(C)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(D)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Keeping the Word

²⁷ And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, ^(A)“Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”

²⁸ But He said, ^(B)“More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

¹¹ For ^(A)both He who ^[a]sanctifies and those who are being sanctified ^(B)are all of one, for which reason ^(C)He is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying:

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ^(A)ascended to My Father; but go to ^(B)My brethren and say to them, ^(C)‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to ^(D)My God and your God.’ ”

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell ^(A)My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

⁴⁰ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

⁴¹ “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ^(B)‘Depart from Me, you cursed, ^(C)into the everlasting fire prepared for ^(D)the devil and his angels: ⁴² for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

⁴⁴ “Then they also will answer ^[a]Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ ⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, ^(E)inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
