^11 (A)And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, ^(B)“You are the Son of God.”

²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he ^(A)cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, ^(B)“What have I to do with ^(C)You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

^41 (A)And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, ^(B)“You are ^[a]the Christ, the Son of God!”

And He, ^(C)rebuking them, did not allow them to ^[b]speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.

²³ Now there was a man in their synagogue with an ^(A)unclean spirit. And he cried out, ²⁴ saying, “Let us alone! ^(B)What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I ^(C)know who You are—the ^(D)Holy One of God!”

²⁹ And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

³ Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

¹⁹ You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

¹⁷ This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.”

^13 (A)Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists ^(B)took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, ^[a]“We ^[b]exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul ^(C)preaches.” ¹⁴ Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

¹⁵ And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

¹⁶ Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, ^[c]overpowered them, and prevailed against ^[d]them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and ^(D)fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

³¹ So the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, ^[a]permit us to go away into the herd of swine.”
