2 When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home.

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar

³⁵ As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. ³⁶ When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening. ³⁷ They told him that Jesus the Nazarene^[a] was going by. ³⁸ So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

9 Jesus climbed into a boat and went back across the lake to his own town.

⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Jesus to come to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die.

²⁴ Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre.^[a] He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret.

⁴⁵ But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.

⁶ When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers.
