¹³ And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe.”^(A)

³³ That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem, and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together.^{(A) 34} They were saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and he has appeared to Simon!”^{(B) 35} Then they told what had happened on the road and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

⁸ Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed,^(A)

³¹ He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
