15 Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, bound Jesus, carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate. Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

He answered, “So you say.”

The chief priests accused him of many things. Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!”

But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.

Jesus before Pilate

(C)Pilate questioned Him: “So You are the King of the Jews?” And He answered him, It is as you say.” And the chief priests started accusing Him [b]of many things. But Pilate questioned Him again, saying, “Do You offer nothing in answer? See how many charges they are bringing against You!” But Jesus (D)said nothing further in answer, so Pilate was amazed.
