Jesus Before Pilate(A)

15 Early in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole Sanhedrin. And they bound Jesus and took Him away and handed Him over to Pilate.

Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

He answered him, “You have said so.”

The chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered nothing. So Pilate asked Him again, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You.”

But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate was astonished.

15 And straightway in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate. And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayest. And the chief priests accused him of many things. And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of. But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled.
