²⁹ And ^(A)those who passed by derided him, ^(B)wagging their heads and saying, ^(C)“Aha! ^(D)You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

^58 (A)“We heard him say, ^(B)‘I will destroy this temple ^(C)that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, ^(D)not made with hands.’”

¹⁸ So the Jews said to him, ^(A)“What sign do you show us for doing these things?” ¹⁹ Jesus answered them, ^(B)“Destroy this temple, and in three days ^(C)I will raise it up.” ²⁰ The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,^[a] and will you raise it up in three days?” ²¹ But he was speaking about ^(D)the temple of his body. ²² When therefore he was raised from the dead, ^(E)his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed ^(F)the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

³⁹ And ^(A)those who passed by ^(B)derided him, ^(C)wagging their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, ^(D)“You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! ^(E)If you are ^(F)the Son of God, come down from the cross.”

⁶¹ and said, “This man said, ^(A)‘I am able to ^(B)destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’”
