¹⁸ Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.”

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, ^(A)“Did I not choose you, the twelve, ^(B)and one of you is a devil?”

⁴⁷ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)he who believes ^[a]in Me has everlasting life.

³⁸ Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not ^(A)crow till you have denied Me three times.

^21 (A)When Jesus had said these things, ^(B)He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(C)one of you will betray Me.”

³² Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but ^(A)My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

²⁶ Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

Life and Judgment Are Through the Son

²⁴ “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, ^(B)but has passed from death into life. ²⁵ Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when ^(C)the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

¹⁹ Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
