New Living Translation

9 “When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.[a] 10 For the Good News must first be preached to all nations.[b] 11 But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

12 “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. 13 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers.[c] But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

9 “But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts,[a](A) and you will be flogged(B) in the synagogues.(C) You will stand before governors and kings(D) because of me,(E) as a witness(F) to them.(G) 10 And it is necessary that the gospel(H) be preached to all nations. 11 So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say, but say whatever is given to you at that time, for it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

12 “Brother will betray(I) brother to death,(J) and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. 13 You will be hated by everyone because of my name,(K) but the one who endures to the end will be saved.(L)
