Mark 13:7-9

⁷ When you hear of wars and rumours of wars,^(A) don’t be alarmed;^(B) these things must take place,^(C) but it is not yet the end. ⁸ For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.^(D) There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines.^[a] These are the beginning^(E) of birth pains.^(F)

Persecutions Predicted

⁹ ‘But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts,^[b](G) and you will be flogged^(H) in the synagogues.^(I) You will stand before governors and kings^(J) because of me,^(K) as a witness^(L) to them.^(M)
