¹¹ Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.^(A)

¹⁴ But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.^{(A) 15} For I will give you^(B) words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

¹¹ “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say,^{(A) 12} for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”^(B)

¹⁹ But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it.^(A) At that time you will be given what to say, ²⁰ for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father^(B) speaking through you.

²¹ “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents^(C) and have them put to death.^(D)

¹⁰ But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.^(A)

¹² It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you,^(A) when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you^(B) by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.^(C) Even angels long to look into these things.

¹³ This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom^(A) but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.^[a]
