The Question about the Messiah

³⁵ While^(A) Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked,^(B) ‘How can the scribes^(C) say that the Messiah^(D) is the son of David?^{(E) 36} David^(F) himself says by the Holy Spirit:^(G)

³⁷ David himself calls him “Lord.” How, then, can he be his son? ’ And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.
