²⁹ Jesus answered, “The most important is, ^(A)‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, ^(B)the Lord is one.

⁴ “Hear, O Israel: ^(A)The Lord our God, the Lord is one.^[a]

²⁷ And he answered, ^(A)“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and ^(B)your neighbor as yourself.”

²⁰ Now ^(A)an intermediary implies more than one, but ^(B)God is one.

³⁰ since ^(A)God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and ^(B)the uncircumcised through faith.

⁴ Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that ^(A)“an idol has no real existence,” and that ^(B)“there is no God but one.”

²⁵ to ^(A)the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, ^(B)be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time^[a] and now and forever. Amen.

^19 (A)You believe that God is one; you do well. Even ^(B)the demons believe—and shudder!

⁵ For ^(A)there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man^[a] Christ Jesus,

³² And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that ^(A)he is one, and ^(B)there is no other besides him. ³³ And to love him with all the heart and with all ^(C)the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, ^(D)is much more than all ^(E)whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
