²⁶ But concerning the dead, that they ^(A)rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, ^(B)‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

³⁷ But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord ^(A)‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

² And ^(A)the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. ³ Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this ^(B)great sight, why the bush does not burn.”

⁴ So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called ^(C)to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

⁵ Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. ^(D)Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” ⁶ Moreover He said, ^(E)“I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for ^(F)he was afraid to look upon God.

⁷ And I will ^(A)establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, ^(B)to be God to you and ^(C)your descendants after you. ⁸ Also ^(D)I give to you and your descendants after you the land ^(E)in^[a] which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and ^(F)I will be their God.”

²⁰ Then he erected an altar there and called it ^(A)El^[a] Elohe Israel.

^30 (A)“And when forty years had passed, an Angel ^[a]of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai. ³¹ When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight; and as he drew near to observe, the voice of the Lord came to him, ³² saying, ^(B)‘I am the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and dared not look.

¹⁶ Go and ^(A)gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, ^(B)“I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt;

^9 (A)Then Jacob said, ^(B)“O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, the Lord ^(C)who said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your family, and I will deal well with you’:
