²⁶ And as for the dead being raised, ^(A)have you not read in ^(B)the book of Moses, in ^(C)the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ^(D)‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, ^(A)even Moses showed, in ^(B)the passage about the bush, where he calls ^(C)the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.

^2 (A)And ^(B)the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. ³ And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” ⁴ When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, ^(C)God called to him ^(D)out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” ⁵ Then he said, “Do not come near; ^(E)take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” ⁶ And he said, ^(F)“I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for ^(G)he was afraid to look at God.

⁷ And I will ^(A)establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, ^(B)to be God to you and to your offspring after you. ⁸ And ^(C)I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and ^(D)I will be their God.”

²⁰ There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.^[a]

³⁰ “Now when forty years had passed, ^(A)an angel appeared to him ^(B)in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. ³¹ When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he drew near to look, there came the voice of the Lord: ^32 (C)‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and did not dare to look.

¹⁶ Go and ^(A)gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, ^(B)“I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt,

⁹ And Jacob said, ^(A)“O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who ^(B)said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,’
