And (A)[a]when they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany unto the mount of Olives, he sent forth two of his disciples,

And said unto them, Go your ways into that town that is over against you, and as soon as ye shall enter into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat: loose him, and bring him.

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? Say that the Lord hath need of him, and straightway he will send him hither.

And they went their way, and found a colt, tied by the door without, in a place where two ways met, and they loosed him.

Then certain of them, that stood there, said unto them, What do ye loosing the colt?

And they said unto them, as Jesus had commanded them: So they let them go.

(B)And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him, and he sat upon him.

And many spread their garments in the way: others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna: [b]blessed be he that cometh in the Name of the Lord.

10 [c]Blessed be the kingdom that cometh in the Name of the Lord of our father David: Hosanna, O thou which art in the highest heavens.

11 (C)So Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the Temple: and when he had looked about on all things, and now it was evening, he went forth unto Bethany with the twelve.

12 (D)And on the morrow when they were come out from Bethany, he was hungry.

13 [d]And seeing a fig tree afar off, that had leaves, he went to see if he might find anything thereon: but when he came unto it, he found nothing but leaves: for the time of figs was not yet.

14 Then Jesus answered, and said to it, Never man eat fruit of thee hereafter while the world standeth: and his disciples heard it.

15 [e]And they came to Jerusalem, and Jesus went into the Temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves.

16 Neither would he suffer that any man should carry a [f]vessel through the Temple.

17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, (E)Mine house shall be [g]called the house of prayer unto all nations? (F)but you have made it a den of thieves.

18 And the Scribes and high Priests heard it, and sought how to destroy him: for they feared him, because the whole multitude was astonied at his doctrine.

19 But when even was come, Jesus went out of the city.

20 (G)[h]And in the morning as they journeyed together, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 Then Peter remembered, and said unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst, is withered.

22 And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Have [i]the faith of God.

23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken away, and cast into the sea, and shall not waver in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith, shall come to pass, whatsoever he saith, shall be done to him.

24 (H)Therefore I say unto you, Whatsoever ye desire when ye pray, believe that [j]ye shall have it, and it shall be done unto you.

25 (I)But when [k]ye shall stand, and pray, forgive, if ye have anything against any man, that your Father also which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses.

26 For if you will not forgive, your Father which is in heaven, will not pardon you your trespasses.

27 (J)[l]Then they came again to Jerusalem: and as he walked in the Temple, there came to him the high Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders,

28 And said unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority, that thou shouldest do these things?

29 Then Jesus answered, and said unto them, I will also ask you a certain thing, and answer ye me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

31 And they thought with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 [m]But if we say, Of men, we fear the people: for all men counted John that he was a Prophet indeed.

33 Then they answered, and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Untie it and bring it.[b] And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say[c] ‘The Lord has need of it, and will send it here again at once.’” And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. And some of those who were standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” So they told them, just as Jesus had said, and they allowed them to take it.[d] And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, and he sat on it. And many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread[e] leafy branches they[f] had cut from the fields. And those who went ahead and those who were following were shouting,

“Hosanna!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord![g]
10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!
    Hosanna in the highest heaven!”[h]

11 And he went into Jerusalem to the temple, and after[i] looking around at everything, because[j] the hour was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

A Barren Fig Tree Cursed

12 And on the next day as[k] they were departing from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And when he[l] saw from a distance a fig tree that had leaves, he went to see if perhaps he would find anything on it. And when he[m] came up to it he found nothing except leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14 And he responded and[n] said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you any more forever!”[o] And his disciples heard it.[p]

The Cleansing of the Temple

15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered into the temple courts[q] and[r] began to drive out those who were selling and those who were buying in the temple courts,[s] and overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those who were selling doves. 16 And he did not permit anyone to carry objects[t] through the temple courts.[u] 17 And he began to teach[v] and was saying to them, “Is it not written,

‘My house will be called a house of prayer
    for all the nations,’[w]

but you have made it a cave of robbers!” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it,[x] and began considering[y] how they could destroy him. For they were afraid of him because the whole crowd was astounded by his teaching. 19 And when evening came they went out of the city.

The Barren Fig Tree Withered

20 And as they[z] passed by early in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 And Peter remembered and[aa] said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered!” 22 And Jesus answered and[ab] said to them, “Have faith in God! 23 Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it,[ac] and it will be done for you. 25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him,[ad] so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your sins.”[ae]

Jesus’ Authority Challenged

27 And they came again to Jerusalem. And as[af] he was walking in the temple courts,[ag] the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came up to him 28 and said to him, “By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority that you do these things?” 29 So Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 30 The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer me!” 31 And they began to discuss[ah] this[ai] with one another, saying, “What should we say?[aj] If we say ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 32 But if we say, ‘From men’”—they were afraid of the crowd, because they all looked upon John as truly a prophet.[ak] 33 And they replied to Jesus saying, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

Осанна в вышине небес!

11 Войдя в Иерусалим, Иисус прошел в храм. Он осмотрел все, но так как было уже поздно, Он вместе с двенадцатью отправился в Вифанию.

Иисус проклинает бесплодный инжир(B)

12 На следующий день, когда они вышли из Вифании, Иисус почувствовал голод. 13 Увидев вдали покрытый листьями инжир, Он подошел посмотреть, нет ли на нем плодов, но не нашел ничего, кроме листьев. Время же для сбора инжира еще не пришло[d]. 14 Тогда Иисус сказал дереву:

– Пусть же никто никогда больше не ест твоих плодов![e]

И ученики слышали Его слова.

Изгнание торговцев из храма(C)

15 Когда они пришли в Иерусалим, Иисус вошел в храм и стал выгонять оттуда продающих и покупающих. Он опрокинул столы менял и прилавки торговцев голубями 16 и не позволял ничего проносить через дворы храма.

17 – Разве не написано: «Дом Мой будет назван домом молитвы для всех народов»?[f] – учил Он их. – А вы превратили его в разбойничье логово[g].

18 Услышав это, первосвященники и учители Закона стали искать способ, как им убить Иисуса. Они боялись Его, потому что весь народ изумлялся Его учению. 19 Когда наступил вечер, Иисус с учениками снова покинул город.

Имейте веру(D)

20 На следующее утро, проходя мимо, они увидели, что инжир засох до корней. 21 Петр вспомнил, что произошло накануне, и сказал:

– Рабби! Смотри! Инжир, который Ты проклял, засох!

22 Иисус ответил им:

– Имейте веру в Бога! 23 Говорю вам истину: если кто-то скажет этой горе: «Поднимись и бросься в море!» – и при этом не будет сомневаться в душе, а будет верить, что произойдет то, что он сказал, то так ему и будет. 24 Поэтому говорю вам: о чем бы вы ни молились и чего бы ни просили, верьте, что вы уже получили это, – и будет вам. 25 И когда вы молитесь, то прощайте всем, на кого вы обижены, чтобы и ваш Небесный Отец простил вам ваши проступки. 26 А если вы не будете прощать, то и ваш Небесный Отец не простит вам ваших проступков[h].

Священники спрашивают Иисуса о Его власти(E)

27 Они снова пришли в Иерусалим, и, когда Иисус ходил в храме, к Нему подошли первосвященники, учители Закона и старейшины.

28 – Чьей властью Ты это делаешь? – спросили они. – Кто дал Тебе власть делать это? 29 Иисус ответил им:

– Если мы скажем: «С Небес», то Он спросит: «Так почему же вы ему не поверили?» 32 Сказать: «От людей» – нельзя.

Потому что они боялись народа, ведь все считали, что Иоанн был настоящим пророком.

33 И они ответили:

– Мы не знаем.

Иисус сказал:

– Тогда и Я вам не скажу, чьей властью Я все это делаю.
