The Healing of Blind Bartimaeus
46 They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” 50 So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher,[a] let me see again.” 52 Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.

E come Gesù usciva da Gerico con i suoi discepoli e con una gran folla, il figlio di Timeo, Bartimeo, cieco mendicante, sedeva presso la strada[a]. 47 Udito che chi passava era Gesù il Nazareno, si mise a gridare e a dire: «Gesù, Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!» 48 E molti lo sgridavano perché tacesse, ma quello gridava più forte: «Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!» 49 Gesù, fermatosi, disse: «Chiamatelo![b]» E chiamarono il cieco, dicendogli: «Coraggio, àlzati! Egli ti chiama». 50 Allora il cieco, gettato via il mantello, balzò in piedi[c] e venne da Gesù. 51 E Gesù, rivolgendosi a lui, gli disse: «Che cosa vuoi che ti faccia?» Il cieco gli rispose: «Rabbunì, che io recuperi la vista». 52 Gesù gli disse: «Va’, la tua fede ti ha salvato». 46 Und sie kommen nach Jericho. Und als er von Jericho auszog samt seinen Jüngern und einer großen Volksmenge, saß ein Sohn des Timäus, Bartimäus der Blinde, am Weg und bettelte.
47 Und als er hörte, dass es Jesus, der Nazarener, war, begann er zu rufen und sprach: Jesus, du Sohn Davids,[a] erbarme dich über mich!
48 Und es geboten ihm viele, er solle schweigen; er aber rief noch viel mehr: Du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich über mich!
49 Und Jesus stand still und ließ ihn [zu sich] rufen. Da riefen sie den Blinden und sprachen zu ihm: Sei getrost, steh auf; er ruft dich!
50 Er aber warf seinen Mantel ab, stand auf und kam zu Jesus.
51 Und Jesus begann und sprach zu ihm: Was willst du, dass ich dir tun soll? Der Blinde sprach zu ihm: Rabbuni, dass ich sehend werde!
52 Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Geh hin; dein Glaube hat dich gerettet! Und sogleich wurde er sehend und folgte Jesus nach auf dem Weg.

46 Ezután Jerikóba mentek. Jézus, a tanítványai, meg az őket körülvevő nagy tömeg már kifelé haladt a városból, amikor egy vak koldus mellé értek, aki az út szélén ült. Bartimeusnak hívták — ez azt jelenti: Timeus fia. 47 Amikor meghallotta, hogy a názáreti Jézus megy arra, kiabálni kezdett: „Jézus, Dávid Fia, könyörülj rajtam!”
48 Sokan rászóltak, hogy maradjon csöndben, de ő annál jobban kiabált: „Dávid Fia! Könyörülj rajtam!”
49 Jézus megállt, és azt mondta: „Hívjátok ide!”
