⁴⁴ And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. ⁴⁵ For even ^(A)the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and ^(B)to give His life a ransom for many.”

^14 (A)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(B)and purify for Himself ^(C)His own special people, zealous for good works.

⁴⁵ And so it is written, ^(A)“The first man Adam became a living being.” ^(B)The last Adam became ^(C)a life-giving spirit.

⁴⁶ However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.

¹⁷ Therefore, in all things He had ^(A)to be made like His brethren, that He might be ^(B)a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
