Mark 10:42-45
Holman Christian Standard Bible
42 Jesus called them over and said to them, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles dominate(A) them, and their men of high positions exercise power over them. 43 But it must not be like that among you.(B) On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(C) 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave(D) to all. 45 For even the Son of Man(E) did not come to be served, but to serve,(F) and to give His life(G)—a ransom(H) for many.”[a](I)

12 When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His robe, He reclined[a] again and said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord. 16 “I assure you: A slave is not greater than his master,[b](C) and a messenger is not greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.(D)

Cleansing the Temple Complex
15 They came to Jerusalem,(A) and He went into the temple complex(B) and began to throw out those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the money changers’(C) tables and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple complex.
17 Then He began to teach them: “Is it not written,(D) My house(E) will be called a house of prayer(F) for all nations?[a] But you have made it a den of thieves!”(G)[b] 18 Then the chief priests and the scribes(H) heard it and started looking for a way to destroy Him. For they were afraid(I) of Him, because the whole crowd was astonished by His teaching.
