²¹ Jesus looked at him and loved him. ‘One thing you lack,’ he said. ‘Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’

¹⁰ All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

Generosity encouraged

⁶ Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

⁷ Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
