5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem(A) were going out to him, and they were baptised by him in the River Jordan,(B) confessing(C) their sins.(D) 6 John wore a camel-hair garment with a leather belt round his waist and ate locusts(E) and wild honey.(F)
7 He proclaimed, ‘One who is more powerful(G) than I am is coming after me.(H) I am not worthy(I) to stoop down and untie the strap of his sandals.(J)

6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
