44 saying to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”(A) 45 But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the word, so that Jesus[a] could no longer go into a town openly but stayed out in the country, and people came to him from every quarter.(B)

44 “See that you don’t tell this to anyone.(A) But go, show yourself to the priest(B) and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing,(C) as a testimony to them.” 45 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places.(D) Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.(E)
