^35 (A)In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and ^(B)was praying there.

¹⁴ These all with one mind ^(A)were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with ^(B)the women, and Mary the ^(C)mother of Jesus, and with His ^(D)brothers.

⁴² They were ^(A)continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to ^(B)the breaking of bread and ^[a](C)to prayer.

Healing the Lame Beggar

3 Now ^(A)Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ^[a]ninth hour, ^(B)the hour of prayer.

²³ When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. ²⁴ And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O ^[a]Lord, it is You who ^(A)made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, ²⁵ who ^(B)by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,

²⁷ For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy ^[e](F)servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both ^(G)Herod and ^(H)Pontius Pilate, along with ^(I)the ^[f]Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and ^(J)Your purpose predestined to occur. ²⁹ And ^[g]now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may ^(K)speak Your word with all ^(L)confidence, ³⁰ while You extend Your hand to heal, and ^[h](M)signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy ^[i](N)servant Jesus.” ³¹ And when they had prayed, the ^(O)place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all ^(P)filled with the Holy Spirit and began to ^(Q)speak the word of God with ^(R)boldness.

⁴ But we will ^(A)devote ourselves to prayer and to the ^[a]ministry of the word.”

First Missionary Journey

13 Now there were at ^(A)Antioch, in the ^(B)church that was there, ^(C)prophets and ^(D)teachers: ^(E)Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of ^(F)Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with ^(G)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. ² While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, ^(H)the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me ^(I)Barnabas and Saul for ^(J)the work to which I have called them.” ³ Then, when they had fasted and ^(K)prayed and ^(L)laid their hands on them, ^(M)they sent them away.
