³⁵ Now ^(B)in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a ^[a]solitary place; and there He ^(C)prayed.

The Twelve Apostles^(A)

¹² Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in ^(B)prayer to God.

^18 (A)praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, ^(B)being watchful to this end with all perseverance and ^(C)supplication for all the saints—

^16 (A)So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and ^(B)prayed.

The Prayer in the Garden^(A)

^39 (B)Coming out, ^(C)He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. ^40 (D)When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

^41 (E)And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, ⁴² saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless ^(F)not My will, but Yours, be done.” ^43 [a]Then ^(G)an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. ^44 (H)And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁴⁵ When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. ⁴⁶ Then He said to them, “Why ^(I)do you sleep? Rise and ^(J)pray, lest you enter into temptation.”

⁷ who, in the days of His flesh, when He had ^(A)offered up prayers and supplications, ^(B)with vehement cries and tears to Him ^(C)who was able to save Him from death, and was heard ^(D)because of His godly fear,

Jesus Walks on the Sea^(A)

¹⁵ Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him ^(B)king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

⁴⁶ And when He had sent them away, He ^(A)departed to the mountain to pray. ⁴⁷ Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land. ⁴⁸ Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and ^(B)would have passed them by.
