³⁰ Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her.

⁵ Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife^(A) along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers^(B) and Cephas^[a]?^(C)

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders^(A) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil^(B) in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer offered in faith^(C) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

³ So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love^(A) is sick.”

²³ He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on^(A) her so that she will be healed and live.”
