As it is written in Isaiah(A) the prophet:[a](B)

Look, I am sending My messenger(C) ahead of You,
who will prepare Your way.[b]
A voice of one crying out in the wilderness:(D)
Prepare the way for the Lord;(E)
make His paths straight!(F)[c]

John came baptizing[d](G) in the wilderness(H) and preaching a baptism of repentance[e](I) for the forgiveness(J) of sins.(K)
